Save Garth Olwg Care Home

garth_olwg.PNG

Garth Olwg Care Home in Church Village has served our community well for nearly sixty years. We call on Rhondda Cynon Taf Borough Council Cabinet to rethink their latest decision to close the facility as a residential care home, which would reverse their previous judgement that the home would stay open. The home has been invaluable for residents who are no longer able to manage in their own homes. This move is cruel for residents, particularly for those recently moved from other care homes, along with the loyal dedicated staff.

Sign the petition and make your views known to [email protected] The Consultation will close on the 27th January 2023.

Mae Cartref Gofal Garth Olwg wedi gweithio'n wych dros ein cymuned am bron i 60 mlynedd. Galwn ar Gabinet Cyngor Rhondda Cynon Taf i ailfeddwl eu penderfyniad i gau'r cartref gofal, fyddai'n gwirdroi eu penderfyniad blaenorol i gadw'r cartref ar agor. Mae'r Cartref wedi bod yn hanfodol i'n trigolion sydd ddim bellach yn gallu byw yn eu cartrefi eu hunain. Mae hyn yn newid creulon i'r bobl sy'n byw yna, yn enwedig y rhai sydd wedi symud o gartrefi eraill yn ddiweddar, ynghyd a'r staff ymroddedig.

Arwyddwch y ddeiseb a rhowch wybod i'r Cyngor am eich teimladau cyn i'r ymgynghoriad gau ar 27 Ionawr 2023 trwy ebostio [email protected]

This is a lovely residential home, and lovely staff. It’s essential to keep this home open so older people have a better chance of being looked after near to where they lived. It’s not in an older persons best interest to be placed in a area not known to them. These people should have choices and not be placed anywhere the local authority deem fit

I would like RCT to reconsider closing Garth Oleg Care Home, this is vital for people who can no longer care for themselves, especially if they have no family.

Lovely care home. My sister went there for respite. Very caring staff. Would be a shame to lose this facility.

As a nurse I see every day the pressures on the NHS in our local hospitals. It is vital that the care homes in RCT are retained and properly utilised as they are much needed within our community. RCT Council please stop closing these care homes and invest properly in the staff by recruiting and giving permanent contracts to staff instead of running the homes on bank staff, you are lucky to have fantastic staff working in your care homes. I know because my mother is a resident in one of them!
