Leader of Plaid Cymru to visit Pontypridd

On Friday 27 November, the Leader of Plaid Cymru Adam Price MS will visit the Pontypridd constituency to hear directly from businesses, organisations and residents about the challenges they have faced this year in light of both the floods and COVID-19.

He will be joined by Heledd Fychan, Councillor for Pontypridd Town ward, and the Plaid Cymru candidate for Pontypridd in next year's Senedd election. Alongside many community champions, she works tirelessly on a number of important local issues including seeking justice for flood victims through an independent inquiry; opposing the reorganisation of schools in the wider Pontypridd area; tackling anti-social behaviour; campaigning against the closure of the A&E at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and securing investment in services for young people and the over 50s.

Speaking ahead of the Leader's visit, Cllr Fychan stated: "Earlier this year, Adam visited Pontypridd in the days following the floods and saw with his own eyes the devastation. Nine months on, he will hear directly from residents and businesses about how the floods continue to have an impact and how Covid-19 has also had a profound effect on the whole of the constituency."

"As we prepare for the Senedd election next May, it is essential that the policies put forward by Plaid Cymru will be of benefit to our communities. This visit will be an opportunity for constituents to find out what a Plaid Cymru Government will deliver for both Pontypridd and the whole of Wales, and help shape the programme of Government."

In addition to visits to businesses and organisations, there will also be a Virtual Town Hall Meeting at 7pm on the same evening, which is open to all residents Information on how to join the meeting can be found here
