This is how the BBC reported RCT's Labour run cabinet decision to close Ysgol Pont Sion Norton and to centralise 6th Form Education.
"Plaid Cymru councillor Heledd Fychan, who represents Pontypridd, urged council leaders to "listen to people's concerns and to take them seriously".
"The council has not collaborated and people are not involved in decisions," she said.
Councillor Fychan claimed some parents were now choosing English-medium education instead of Welsh because of the closure of Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Pont Sion Norton."

Following a strong campaign which saw hundreds of people sign the petition calling for the reopening of Mill Street Post Office we are glad to say that it has now re-opened.

Plaid Cymru councillor for Pontypridd Town, Heledd Fychan said
"The Post Office is a vital part of the town, providing crucial services and bringing many people into Pontypridd who then visit other shops and businesses.
"I have been in contact with the Post Office and have received assurances that they are committed to ensuring a Post Office remains in Pontypridd. They are already looking at alternative premises within the town, and are keen to find a temporary solution as quickly as possible before something more permanent can be found.
"I am also saddened by the closure of Dennis Pounder Travel, which will be a loss for Pontypridd."
On Thursday 9th September the proposed Taff Vale Development went before RCT's Planning Committee.
It got planning permission and although Plaid Cymru support the investment in Pontypridd, Heledd Fychan the Plaid Cymru Councillor for the Town spoke at the meeting to express some of the concerns of residents, so they are on record:Read more
