Petition to Secure Future of Cilfynydd Surgery launched
Councillor Hywel Gronow has this week received confirmation from Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board that Taff Vale Practice has made an application to close the Cilfynydd branch. It is the intention of the Health Board to conduct a 6 week patient engagement exercise and every patient over the age of 15 living in the Cilfynydd ward will be contacted in the coming weeks to provide an opportunity for local voices to be heard.
Whilst encouraging everyone affected by the proposal to take part in the consultation, Cllr Gronow has also launched a petition to try and secure the future of the surgery, with the intention of presenting it to the health board. The petition can be signed here or via a paper copy.
Responding to the news, Cllr Gronow said: “This news is hugely disappointing and I know that many people in Cilfynydd will be concerned.
“For months, I have been calling for the future of the surgery to be secured as I know how important the service is to our community.
“Over the coming weeks, it is important that our voices are heard by the Health Board so that the surgery is saved.”
