Pontypridd has a new street without a brick being laid! Well, maybe not new exactly but Blanch Street finally has a street sign showing where it is.
When the Muni closed its doors last Christmas, Pontypridd became poorer overnight. The Muni was an integral part of our community, and was enjoyed by people of all ages from across the Valleys and beyond.
There was, rightly, a public outcry and since then Plaid Councillor for Pontypridd Town, Heledd Fychan has continuously made the case for the Council to take a more proactive approach to securing the future of the Muni.Read more

Following a strong campaign which saw hundreds of people sign the petition calling for the reopening of Mill Street Post Office we are glad to say that it has now re-opened.

Plaid Cymru councillor for Pontypridd Town, Heledd Fychan said
"The Post Office is a vital part of the town, providing crucial services and bringing many people into Pontypridd who then visit other shops and businesses.
"I have been in contact with the Post Office and have received assurances that they are committed to ensuring a Post Office remains in Pontypridd. They are already looking at alternative premises within the town, and are keen to find a temporary solution as quickly as possible before something more permanent can be found.
"I am also saddened by the closure of Dennis Pounder Travel, which will be a loss for Pontypridd."
Santa is coming to Pontypridd town centre to switch on the lights!
With Santa's grotto open from 12:00 - 17:30 and a Snowglobe open from 13:00 which includes a free photo!
