Heledd Fychan MS, Cllr Amanda Ellis and newly elected Cllr Paula Evans at the Count in Ynysybwl Community Centre.

We did it!  Thanks for all the hard work that so many volunteers put in, every leaflet delivered and every door knocked, all paid off.

The final result was:

PC: 59.0% (+3.5)
LAB: 33.4% (-1.2)
CON: 4.6% (+4.6)
GWLAD: 1.9% (-8.0)
GRN: 1.1% (+1.1)

Paula will now join Amanda Ellis in representing Ynysybwl on Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.  

In her thank you speech, Paula paid a warm tribute to the former Councillor Tony Burnell, whose sad death caused the by-election. He will always be fondly remembered by Plaid Cymru and the people of Ynysybwl.
