Plaid Cymru has launched its Education Recovery Plan, as it emerged that children in Wales have lost an estimated half a year of learning during the pandemic.

Speaking at Plaid Cymru’s Spring Conference, Shadow Education Minister Siân Gwenllian MS outlined her plans to help all children, young people and schools recover after COVID-19

“The need for an Independent Inquiry remains, and the fight continues until we secure justice for those affected and investment in flood prevention measures. Our communities will not be able to rest easy until this happens, and I call on the Welsh Government to re-think their position to date, and establish an Independent Inquiry as a matter of urgency.”

Nadine Marshall was born and raised in the Vale of Glamorgan. A Welsh speaker, Nadine lives with her family in Barry, and has 3 children and 1 grandchild.

Before a period working as an educational coordinator across south east Wales, Nadine worked as a lecturer within education and childcare.

Tragic personal circumstances led to Nadine becoming familiar with the justice system and its workings. Following the horrific murder of her eldest son, Conner, Nadine pursued a four-year campaign to challenge and change government policies relating to information sharing, procedural reform and recognition for families affected by murder.

Together with the MS for the Rhondda, I have written to HSBC urging them to reconsider their decision to close their branches in Pontypridd and Talbot Green.
